I'm liking the tower...it's pleasingly sliverish, but still corporate enough for its location - both assisted by a lack of Pokey little balconies poking out - with just the right amount of 'Big City but not trying too hard' angles.
Unfortunately, the Wellington side of the podium is a clunky, car-scaled mess.
Another outstanding update, steveve and great pics, dt_toronto_geek. The way this building's being finished at the top is just perfect. Best view is from Union Station between Simcoe Place and RBC Centre.
I know.. the weathers a pain!!! Everytime i go down there its raining or overcast... And it SUCKS cause as i was walking back north, the skies became clear !!! (this was on Saturday)
Sharp eye! I never noticed the mismatched windows until you mentioned them... its a small thing but nonetheless looks bad... I like the Ritz better than RBC... from the east/west, RBC just looks FAT now
Thought I would take some shots from the roof pool level in my building since I never do...please excuse shit camera. Let me know if it doesn't work, am a bit forgetful and rusty as to how the whole attachment thing works...
4 May 2010: I was in a **** mood this afternoon but even I could appreciate this building today! I thought it looked chic enough to photograph before the (brief) rain hit:
Thanks for all the spectac updates today urbandreamer! That second shot above is just awesome! 3 brand new under construction towers in the entertainment district, all of them essentially topped off, and all of them contributed amazingly to this view! I can't imagine looking at this view 5 years ago with JUST SIMCOE PLACE in next to the cn tower! Bizarre stuff we got happenin in this side of town!
