If you put it in Perspective, its not all that bad looking. Like others have said, it creates a decent streetwall along Scarlett and adds a mixed use component to the otherwise bland landscape. The views from this condo are probably spectacular considering how close it is to the Humber River valley. Contextually the height seems also appropriate for this location

Sadly something like this with a podium wasnt built at the Eglinton intersection. The existing building there is unappealing and does nothing to animate the street frontage.

You know, it's not exactly beautiful, (in fact it inelegantly handles many details, I think especially at the second level where it feels both very heavy and unnecessarily fussy at the same time) but it's impressively urban for that area!

Couldn't agree more. That kind of street-wall is unheard of in Etobicoke. I really hope it will inspire more built-form in the same vein so that these awful areas will finally start developing a sense of place and walkability.
 
From Saturday. It was a quick ride-by, but it looks like most of the retail is spoken for.
