Strange that the front section is almost at grade while the rear is down 2 floors.

Not your run of the mill for glazing and far better than most so far. Need to see more for final comment.

^^ Why does this building seem so far back from Yonge Street? Am I seeing the back side? (4 pictures up) Are there plans to build another tower along Yonge?

I believe it has to be distance between windows.

I could not figure it out when it was in the hole, as there was no support for another building or extension to the east.

Over all, not a good layout and a real waste of land use.

According to this rendering on the condo website, the land fronting Yonge Street is supposed to be for forecourt driveway/passenger pickup. Very 1970's tower in the park, suburban, and yes very Dubai!

A shame because (although this isn't really my cup of tea) the cladding on this may actually be interesting, especially for this area.

What a complete waste of space. Why would the city approve something like that on Yonge Street, which is supposed to be our main commercial strip? Christ, don't we have any proper planning principles in Toronto! I can't believe this towers in the park BS is still going on in 2012.

most like the building department required the developer to set their building far enough so that privacy issues don't occur from windows being too close.
