It's probably for something trivial like resignalling the Bloor-Danforth line.

Blood-Danforth Line doesn't need signalling upgrade to ATO anytime soon though. Nobody at the TTC is asking for it (though it remains an item on the capital budget list). And the T1s have at least 10 years of life in them.

The TTC is upgrading all subway routes. Better to do so bit by bit.

Uhhhh, you may want to check the 5 and 10 year budget forecasts....

The TTC is tentatively scheduled to start working on a new signal system for the B-D in something like 2019 - basically as soon as the YUS resignalling is completed.

JT just rolled into the station!

Fun fact, my friend power-washed that super-clean subway car last night. :p

Josh Colle is here, so must be TTC related.

edit 2: Colle confirms it is about transit funding!
edit 3: Colle is talking about the importance of the 'nuts and bolts' of the system. Sounds like this will be about state of good repair investment
edit 4: JT says three things that will make a difference with this announcement:

1) This investment is immediate, Toronto gets the full investment this year.
2) Efficient, Federal government will fund up to 50% of transit projects.
3) Cities will about allowed to determine their project priority.
