Urbandreamer try not to distract the bus driver next time.
I don't get out to Sherway too often, and seldom after dark, so I was glad to get there two evenings ago when I finally got to see John McEwen's Spillway 2013 all lit up and splashing. Despite the name, it wasn't until 2015 when it all began to work.

I want to like it... but I just can't. The fountain is nice enough, though I'd do away with the red light. The sculptures really get me though. I like that they light up, but they are perhaps a bit too... mature. That being said I doubt most of the people who bought here are art enthusiasts, so hey, at least its something.

It adds interest to a rather sterile public realm around Sherway Gardens--a landscape of concrete, asphalt and lawns.
