& What rail line is that in the photos & why can't the city use it for transit?

It the CP main line through midtown.

(Edit to add that I know it's now CPxx, but I don't recall the new name. Also, there is discussion about this line in several other threads. Basically, CP owns it, and neither moving their mainline elsewhere, nor buying timeslots useful for commuter rail are likely to happen)

Taken today, May 31st, 2024

Westernmost tower: Topped out
Middle tower: ~26th floor forms
Easternmost tower: 27th floor forms

Western tower topped out in May. Resources have been diverted to the Middle and Eastern buildings hence they are going up quickly now. Spring / Summer weather is when they work the quickest so expect these to top out before the end of the summer

June 1 Status Update

Western Tower Mechanical Roof currently being completed (Occupancy - Jan 2025 - 8 Months to go)
Middle 26 out of 39 = 67% (Occupancy March 2025 - 10 months to go) - At this pace, should top out some point in August
Eastern 27 out of 34 stories = 80% (Occupancy (April 2025 - 11 months to go) - Should top out some point in July
Crest - Topped out (Occupancy May 2025 - 1 year to go)
