Imagine if the Yonge St. build up had been on a lake front East west axis, (Front st say) , instead on north south. Just how far is Egglington from the lake?? That lake front skyline would be miles??? From Mls on the west end, to Minto etc. on the east end of the lake.

Truthfully the density runs from the lake (or Front st) to Bloor not Eglinton. The skyline would then run from roughly parliment to Spadina, which is generally where the CBD currently is.

Using Front to Eglinton the skyline would run roughly from Carlaw to Liberty village (but with some low/medium density in between. Again outside of the area east of the Don that part of the city still holds some significant density.

I don't think the city would look much differenct than it does right now.

Car crashes through window of hotel at Maple Leaf Square

Police and EMS are on scene after a car crashed through a large plate glass window of the Hotel Le Germain around 3:36 p.m. Friday.

Police said the crash occurred when the driver’s foot slipped off the accelerator as he was reversing. The car, a four-door black airport taxi, entered the building backward, shattering the hotel’s front window on Bremner Blvd.

Police said there were no injuries, although there is debris and shattered glass scattered around the scene.

Fire services said that because the car operates on both gas and propane, it cannot be dragged or towed out. It must be lifted up to be removed.

Bremner Blvd. is still open.

Look at that mullion, completely unscathed. No resistance at all! Must not be much of an anchor system at the bottom.

I was referring to the thing about having to pick it up instead of towing it out....seems weird haha

Right, well in that case I'm guessing it has something to do with the sensitivity of the propane tank, since they're highly pressurized. Not 100% sure about that one though.

So the tank is too sensitive for the car to be dragged out, but it was alright going backwards through a wall of glass? Now I am definitely intrigued as to why the car must be lifted...
