Toronto Edge on Triangle Park | ?m | 21s | Plaza | TACT Architecture

It was mentioned in another thread a few weeks back that the Price Chopper behind the Gladstone has been sold to a developer, thankfully.

Let's just hope the Loblaws at Queen and Portland is up and running before the Price Chopper is redevelopped. There's already a shortage of grocery stores in the hood!

From urbanation

Coming soon to Lisgar Ave, south of Queen St E: "Edge on Triangle Park" by Urbancorp. http://twitpic.com/1ysjlo less than 20 seconds ago via Twitpic

Urbanation--you got your address wrong! Think Queen West!, and it's Street not Ave!

just hearing Urbancorp alone would make me NOT consider this project ~

somehow this design has a university residence feel to it ...

Seems like this is a joint venture project between Plazacorp and Urbancorp ... (Plazacorp's part will hopefully savage this project)

I didn't realize the developer can change the building so much ... thats sad... Was the quality of the interiors ok?

Two bedroom 480 sqft? What a shame!!!

Unbelievable!

This building is going to be a cheap, full of renters building. And the builders actually want and are hoping for that as they are offering "Allow the purchaser lease the unit during occupancy".

And the ceiling height is only 8 ft!

Urbancorp, your standard is going lower and lower. Half a year ago, it was those two bed units 570, 580, and 590 sqft at Westside Lofts phase II that I complained about here, and now this! You're pulling the Triangle Queen West area's value down to the lower end! What a shame!

no, developers aren't greedy and insane when it comes to the products they bring to market ... no /// end sarcasm

I think the developer is merely responding to reality--prices are going to crash so why not push smaller more affordable units? Most of Urbancorp's customers are investors...they're just responding to the new market's reality.

Probably within twenty years this area will become another Jameson-style area--cheap apartments for new immigrants. WQW becomes "Little ____" whatever group takes over the area.
