TPL is set to reconstruct the Centennial Library Branch in 2022.

This Branch is on the north side of Finch, just west of Bathurst

This is the branch as it appears today:

A replacement branch will be more than double the size going from a bit shy of 7,000ft2 to just over 15,000ft2.

Of note, this is TPL's first go at a Net Zero branch.

There's a report on that aspect here:

It wouldn't be the first TPL branch with solar panels.

TPL's Armour Heights branch had solar panels as early as the early 1980s! To be fair, it's within the Armour Heights Community Centre, which has those solar panels.

This one has been a real struggle to get through Planning for some reason.

As per the just released capital budget for Toronto Public Library:

Passed by the library, and noticed they have put up "Closing soon" in their window using sticky notes (may have not been exact wording) but it was large and visible driving on the eastbound lanes of Finch Avenue West. So I assume some progress has been made because that is a new sign.
