That's such an odd effect, as Yonge does not actually curve or bend at Lawrence! That's entirely the effect go the hilly topography there (and is even more pronounced in the shots that @salsa included in the Aura post).

Yeah that's what I thought too. But upon further scrutiny it turns out that Yonge is not as perfectly straight as it seems to be.

It's a very small bend, but it appears much bigger when you look at it from this angle. In Apple Maps I managed to get the same effect.

Huh. Maybe it is a degree off. Nothing like what occurs at Heath Street, but still something. Ah, well, the surveying parties were well supplied with ale.
