They've been doing work on the Yonge storefronts the last few times I've walked by. I think now that the new construction is coming up to grade they're starting to do some of the interior structural work to tie the old and new together

Update:

Bazis and Plaza's 1 Yorkville has hit grade in Downtown Toronto, with the Roy Varacalli-designed tower now set to begin rising above a row of preserved Yonge Street storefronts.
