So one facade fails and the whole block has to go down? Mighty convenient...

I went by the site. The back half of the Frogley Building (Cookbook Store Building) has hoarding covering it along Yorkville where the eastern half of the Yorkville Espresso bar was. You can see behind the hoarding a little bit and it appears okay on the outside, but obviously something is wrong.

After going over there, I highly doubt the whole site will be razed, but then again...

I also can't help but wonder if this was a stitch up from the beginning. Is this KWT's ward? If so I'm assuming she would get just as worked up about this as Stollery's. Of course if it turns out that this demo is totally legit then fine....Would be curious to know how much extra might be made off this project if they don't have to save the buildings. Whatever that figure is it would be nice if that were required to be funelled into section 37 funds.

I would hope that if 1Yorkville had to come down, that they would rebuild it.

3 through 9 Yorkville have always been planned for demolition.

They better rebuild it or else I'll ask Bazis for some cash

Rebuild what though? I haven't been by, so I'm not sure what came down, and that photo doesn't provide any clues.

Does anyone know how old those buildings are?
Is there any historical value to them other than being old?

They really shouldve just taken down the facades, demolish and reinstall it on new structures.
Make designing the lower levels much easier and cheaper too
