When I was in London I felt like it was huge. Maybe not so much the buildings but the amount of people, the extent of the subway network, etc.

Some communities in Southern Ontario will allow new public streets as narrow as 15m (50ft). Anything narrower than that and servicing the pipes, and getting fire and garbage trucks become problems. Private streets are another matter. There are lots of condo streets in Toronto that are a lot narrower than 50ft. Some of them are pedestrian only, others are shared spaces:
