Strikethrough?

Hey Ed - I've bumped up against this a couple of times. Any chance of enabling strikethrough text in vBulletin?

Hey Ed - sorry, I totally spaced out for a while there.

It adds the ability to use the tags to get strikethrough text. (Just like gets you bold.) It's pretty common on other forums, and I'm surprised that vBulletin doens't have it enabled by default.

There's been a few times I've been eager to strike text out for the sake of emphasis, but vBulletin stymies me...

It could be useful if you make a mistake. You can strike out text and write the correction beside it, to avoid confusion.

I meant in the editing process. What if someone had quoted you, and that quote still contains the mistake?

Yeah, people use strikethrough for a few reasons. As junctionist mentions, bloggers often use it to indicate where something they wrote has changed, so people can see exactly what information was wrong and what's been updated.

Also, it's just plain funny sometimes.
