Street Signs

Sorry, not Toronto but certainly timely advice from Ottawa

Image link appears to be broken.

A temporary trouble, I trust?

A bit strange that Front St above doesn't have "E" or "W" after it (although I know it is in the west-end).

Good eye - didn't even notice that myself! That is a bit strange. And speaking of strange missing elements, here's a link for anyone wondering why the sign right next to that one doesn't even have a "Davenport Road"...

...plus another link for anyone curious about the "Republic of Rathnelly" below it:

Unfortunately I wasn't able to find any articles regarding the jarringly mismatched fonts on The Kingsway sign, or why The Queensway has apparently ceased to be a neighbourhood altogether and is now only available online...

^ Good eye again! I actually noticed the same omission on a Widdicombe Hill Blvd sign a few weeks back - although you can probably chalk that one up to space-saving. Not sure what the Wells Hill excuse is, unless there's some policy against giving "Hill" streets their proper postfixes...

Anyways, after another 2 months I only managed to spot 4 Astral signs which I hadn't already accounted for. I must be pretty close to a full collection now:

Anyone know of any I'm missing?

Park Home Ave (at Yonge St). The sign says "Historic community of Lansing", and has some historical dates at the bottom. Here's an image from streetview:

Edit: I found a slightly clearer picture from another location. But I'm sure you can do better than either of them :)

Hmm, there's also a Wells Ave a few blocks south of Wells Hill Ave, east of Bathurst. Thankfully no real ambiguity there.

This 'hill street' (let's be careful out there) is mysteriously lowercase:

On another note, this private street in Rosedale is the only example I know of in Toronto of a street being called a close (an extremely common term in the UK for a cul-de-sac):

Thanks salsa, but I actually got that one already - albeit in reverse with the historic bits at the top (see the first page of this thread). I was just referring to the new-style Astral Media signs pictured above.
