With the exception of the cladding, it looks forgettable. The massive wall at the top seems unimaginative too.

Oh, don't worry, the cladding is the same rusticated precast which adorns many other 'historically-influenced' Diamond and Schmitt buildings, both on the Queens campus and elsewhere. Nothing to get too excited about. As for the looming grey wall at the top, well, it is D+S after all...

I think I agree, that blank wall covering the mechanical floor looks regrettable, especially when on the backside they plan to continue the same facade right to the top. They definitely could have done something a little more interesting with that wall. If you look to the right side of the render as well, they also have something interesting going on with the fins and checkered colour cladding. Don't know exactly how well it will look when finished when seen next to the more conventional limestone facade, but it could be promissing.

The entire building however looks like a recycled version of the two newest residence buildings that went up on campus about 7 years ago.
