X GALLERY | CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
NARROW AND WIDE

Deadline: 6pm March 1st, 2013

IX Gallery is the exhibit and event space of Colourgenics, which in 2013 celebrates its 30th year of providing top flight services to Canada's foremost visual artists and photographers. All works shown in the space are printed, mounted, and framed by Colourgenics.

We are seeking submissions for our exhibition "Narrow and Wide", which will be part of the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival. This juried show is open to everyone (amateur, professional, young, mature, eccentrics, sports fans, politicians, students, honoured members of the business community). Selected works will be produced in our high-end fine art facility, at our cost, and displayed during the month of May. If you are selected, you will have the option of purchasing your piece at the end of the show, but this is not required.

About the Show:

Embedded in the history of photography is a desire to show how the world seems - to not only illustrate what lies in front of us, but to convey what it's like to see. We harness different technologies in order to do this, and the images in this exhibition represent two such approaches: the panorama, and the close-up. This collection celebrates the fact that our perception is expansive as well as nuanced: the texture of the close, the sweeping horizon of the open sea.

Submission Guidelines:

Please submit up to 10 images by email to submissions[at]colourgenics[dot]com.

* Images should be JPEG format, 1MB maximum size.
* Images should either be panoramas or limited perspective, close-up / macro in nature (If you have a way to do both, that would be acceptable).
* They must be photographically-based (manipulation is allowed)
* Full-resolution versions may be requested as part of the selection process. Full panorama files must be at least 2000 pixels high, close-ups at least 3000x2000.
* Please include pixel dimensions of the full-resolution files in your submission
* Please include your name, email address and phone number
* There is no charge to submit to this exhibition.
* IX Gallery will not share, use or display any image without the artist's express permission

For more information on this project, please call 416.461.3233 or email the address above.
