New Automated TTC service disruption announcements

Sorry, I should have used a </sarcasm> tag.
To be honest, the more I hear these automated announcements, the more I hate them. It sort of makes the TTC look lazy and cheap. Again today I heard the system spit out "Spedena" and just begs for them to pre-record announcements that they can call on.
Anyone visiting Toronto now knows why our system is slow and chaotic ... the system is controlled and operated by Mac OS running on my PowerPC from 1995.

I have a program called Kurzweil 3000. Its primary purpose is text-to-speech. There is an option to change the pronunciation of specific words. Obviously, I set the program to pronounce "Yonge" as "young", while I set "Spadina" as "spuh-deina."

This dark sorcery spell is used for those with learning disabilities. Yes, it is necessary to accommodate those with disabilities.

Was caught in a smoke warning delay yesterday morning and the announcement finally says Spa-dye-na .. how difficult was that to fix?

I wonder if they had to change the spelling or just modify the pronunciation somehow?
