I took a 2 week vacation to Europe after my last exam ended a couple of weeks ago. During that time, I visited Ulm, Stuttgart, Berlin, Munich, Salzburg and Strasburg.
I'll be posting pictures from each day that I went somewhere since it's the easiest way of giving this phototour.

We left Toronto on our way to Frankfurt with a layover in Cincinnati. We travelled with Delta which had some sub-par service. The airport in Cincinnati was quite big and a Delta hub.

A nice big skylight in one of the terminals
Inside the biggest terminal. It was pretty big with lots of natural light. However, there weren't a lot of people and it felt empty for the size of the terminal.

I assumed this was the Ohio River
The night city all illuminated.
Out of nowhere came a plane flying pretty close. It looks like it was a Lufthansa plane.
After we landed in Frankfurt, our friends met us there and we drove down to Ulm. It was about a 3 hour drive on the autobahn. Gotta say the roads there are pretty amazing. But when thinking of our harsh climate, there's no way we could have roads like that after a couple months of winter.
After we rested a bit, we went for a quick tour of Ulm. There will be more pictures from other days that we go into the downtown area.
A lot of the old houses are all twisted and you wonder how on earth they are still standing.
They have a whole network of small streams, almost like Venice. This is the Schiefes Haus which is a hotel.
Tight quarters.

The Rathaus (town hall)
The astronomical clock on the Rathaus.
The downtown is mixed with some modern architecture like this newly built museum.
Interesting facade treatment. Most buildings are mixed use with commercial shops on the bottom and offices on top.

Very nice looking public telephone.
The Ulm Munster which has the tallest church steeple in the world.
Opposite the Munster is the Stadthaus designed by Richard Meier.
Major department store.

Next up, Neuschwanstein Castle.
