Looks like he took it across the street where Centro is u/c. I'm guessing he took it from Centro's crane.

Just looked in the Centro forum. There is a none-descript mid rise office building just north of Centro, its pretty clear it was taken from there.
Climbing up a crane to take skyline shoots is my kind of thing to do, but even I wouldn't do that in this weather.

great update Gregv ... looks like RED's pit is going to stay that way for a while (seeing Monarch sent out the construction start delay notice recently)

7th floor of 55 Town Centre Dr, the 8 floor office building across from the YMCA.
Have you noticed the St. Louis wings opening on the ground floor of 55? Wings and beer after working out!

^ ah, I see. Initially, I really thought you were standing on top of a crane, as the angle suggests. That's definitely a good shot of EQ's development.

The doors seem indicative of retail to me.
These are some pretty attractive towers, they have their flaws but they're not to bad to look at!

RED (aka EQ3) cancelled !
I was just browsing at Monarch's website and noticed all references to Red @ Equinox were removed ... out of curiosity I called the sales office and was told that it has in fact been cancelled ~
I guess it will be a while until the EQ1+EQ2+Red trio complex is completed ... Red's pit shall remain ~
so much for the Monarch's "construction start delay notice" sent in February 2009
well on the bright side, at least residents in EQ1+EQ2 could enjoy the view for a while longer

It will probably not happen, but Monarch can always sell the land where Red was supposed to go to the TPL, so the library site can be bigger!

If Red ever gets relauched, I'm hoping that it would look radically different from all the other Monarch towers at SCC. It's time for Scarborough to get its own 'Signature Tower'.
