These pesky boundaries. I always thought St. Lawrence was south of Front. At least that's what Google maps tells me.
 
There is no "technically" about it. Neighbourhood boundaries aren't official. Boundaries of BIAs and neighbourhood associations are informative, but not determinative. The best we can say is that many people would consider Richmond and Ontario to be in St. Lawrence.

Yes, a better way of putting it.
 
We've been through this so many times. When I lived at Richmond/Sherbourne everyone called it Corktown. It has since changed a bit (and moved further east), but at least for me Richmond & Ontario is still Corktown, albeit straddling the border. Moss Park and Old York were also sometimes used, but rarely St. Lawrence.
 
Wow, that's a drag. Been there half a dozen times and always thought it was such a great, tucked-away place and a real jewel in Corktown. Not cheap but a great ambiance... it just felt so exquisitely urban.
 
Could have seen this coming years ago. Very average yet over-priced food and some of the counter staff were snobs who looked you up and down. Not cool. But the space itself is rather neat, so another entrepreneur who knows how to hire staff that know how to act will make something special here. Denial is such a powerful emotion. This really should have been the bees knees.

Plus a business closing shop in Corktown is commonplace.
 
Not our experience at all. We found the food delicious and cleanly prepared and the service fast and courteous, albeit a little on the reserved side. Fine by us; we don't care to be chatted up all the time anyway.

But agreed, it's a tough area to get a foothold. Not much walkabout traffic just yet. That will change.
 
Oh, what a shame. Such a hidden treasure.

A bit on the expensive side ... but average? It was only marginally in cost more than some of those new burger places in the area ... which to be honest, just serve you a frigging hamburger and not that great fries. But certainly not average. Snobs? Never got that impression, even when I was there in sneakers and jeans with the lunch crowd.

It was unique, and it is a loss.

It seems that Nissan at 508 king east is packing up and moving to 165 front St. East. Nissan Sign has been removed and notice of moving is in the window. Although not the worst example of a car dealership it would be nice to see that space leased and transformed into something more useful to the growing number of residents in the neighbourhood.

Great news. Would be nice to see a restaurant or bar there.
 
Add the Infiniti dealership on the SE corner of King/Sumach..Would a grocery store be too much to ask?
