Since none of the buildings have been design (with the exception of a few) I think the renders are to give us an understand of how the buildings will be placed, not how they'll look. So no need to worry.
Then again, the Corus building is a fine example of something that looked bland on paper, but really shines in reality.
I think you have that backwards. The renders offered some hope of excitement, it's since been cut down, cheapened and reduced to a boring glass box. Hardly deserving of a waterfront location. It's more than a disappointment, it's a disgrace.
I hold little hope of what will follow.
