Because a black roof would absorb heat to no end. For that reason, all building roofs are typically white or light grey. The issue of the colour not matching is so insignificant compared to the heat gain problems a black roof would create.

Very nice. I was there too. Did you peek inside the office right beside the model? It had a wall covered in many iterations of the design. It looked to me like the base was originally supposed to twist similar to the turning torso before straightening up along the shaft of the tower. My guess is...

Exactly. aA does the opposite. Decoration is at the forefront of a lot of their designs including this one. The decorative metal bands on this building are the main design feature. It's not minimal and does not reference anything, it is frivolous decoration slapped on top. Contemporary-deco or...
