    Toronto 50 Bloor Street West | 230.11m | 70s | Morguard Corporation | Pellow + Associates

The latest iteration looks like it could potentially be incredible. It'll be curtain wall glazing with some sort of argyle-ish frit pattern. The profile of the tower has a slight concave curve when viewing from the north and south. No renderings, but a full set of drawings updated last month...

UD, you may be thinking of structural silicone joints (as opposed to traditional aluminum mullion caps).

There's so much ignorance here that it hurts.

^Suburban? This project is the polar opposite of suburban.

And 2 Queen, 501 Yonge, 1-9 Isabella, Five, 27 Yorkville, etc etc. The thing is, Massey & 2 Queen would block out the entire image!

I hope you don't mind, sMT, I decided to plop some building onto your stunning photo. I didn't measure heights or anything - just a quick 30-min mockup for fun:) photo: Jack Landau

Because a black roof would absorb heat to no end. For that reason, all building roofs are typically white or light grey. The issue of the colour not matching is so insignificant compared to the heat gain problems a black roof would create.

Why would it be on Jane/Portage Pwky if the project's address is 2966-86 Highway 7?

Very nice. I was there too. Did you peek inside the office right beside the model? It had a wall covered in many iterations of the design. It looked to me like the base was originally supposed to twist similar to the turning torso before straightening up along the shaft of the tower. My guess is...

Now replace "club district" with "Chinatown" or "little Italy" and ask yourself the same question.

    Toronto Theatre Park | 156.96m | 47s | Lamb Dev Corp | a—A

Exactly. aA does the opposite. Decoration is at the forefront of a lot of their designs including this one. The decorative metal bands on this building are the main design feature. It's not minimal and does not reference anything, it is frivolous decoration slapped on top. Contemporary-deco or...

    Toronto Theatre Park | 156.96m | 47s | Lamb Dev Corp | a—A

Its a plain box dressed up with frivolous balcony design - like most of aA's highrise designs. In a way, they're bringing decoration back into architecture. It's Ironic because aA fans equate their designs with the likes of Mies for being simplistic and strictly functional, when in fact aA has...

I stumbled upon a very interesting piece on the making of one of the final renderings. It is very in depth and really gives you an idea of what it takes to produce a presentation quality render.

    Toronto King Blue by Greenland | 155.75m | 48s | Greenland | Arcadis

The podium is alright. The ground floor on king looks too short, but maybe that's just the render. The glass section between the heritage building and the black brick section should be pushed back more to give more attention to the heritage building. The black brick part looks clumsy. Nothing...
