Residential – the Place to Live

Downtown Markham offers several incredible communities that 15,000 residents will call home. From the Benchmark town manors, representing the cornerstone of Downtown Markham, to four high rise developments – Nexus North, Nexus South, Rouge Bijou and The Verdale – to luxury hotel condominium, The Signature, which will feature a Marriott luxury boutique hotel, Downtown Markham is the place to live for every lifestyle.

Retail – the Place to Shop + Dine

Downtown Markham’s two million square feet of retail space will be defined by international retailers, best-of local shops, gourmet restaurants and entertainment venues. The first phase of retail is set to open later this year and will include entertainment anchor Cineplex Cinemas, as well as Royal Bank, Aroma Espresso Bar, South St. Burger Co., Me Va Me, Chatime and scores of other retailers.

Commercial – the Place to Work

Downtown Markham offers more than 3.4 million square feet of office space in a Commercial District adjacent to Highway 407, one of Canada’s major inter-regional highways. This location is especially appealing to progressive tenants who understand the value of an attractive location for their employees, vendors and visitors. In addition to Aviva Canada, Honeywell, Worley Parsons, and several others have all situated their offices in Downtown Markham.

Arts and Culture – the Place to Play

More than homes, offices, shops and dining, Downtown Markham is an urban destination with arts and culture at the heart. The development will feature the world’s first power-producing, fine-art carousel, a street wall art, an outdoor museum, and a 2,500 seat Cineplex Cinemas.

The vibrant urban centre is being designed and developed following sustainable guidelines, including energy efficient power sources and LEED certified residential and commercial projects. Aside from allowing greater density, the development also enjoys 72 acres of natural and landscaped green space, improved walkability and easy access to public transit, including VIVA and GO Transit.
