ADFF, the Architecture & Design Film Festival, is returning to the TIFF Lightbox in two weeks, November 4 through 7, 2026, with seventeen screenings in total. Presented by Eventscape, the festival opens with a Wednesday, November 4 evening premiere and party, continuing on the Thursday and Friday evenings, and going all day on Saturday the 7th.
The festival's offerings this year cover famous buildings — the CN Tower here in Toronto, COPAN in Sao Paulo, and five buildings by celebrated architect Renzo Piano — the work of overlooked female architects generally and Barbara Buser specifically, standout architectural styles Bauhaus and the lesser-known Space Age delights of Googie, revitalized urban spaces — Tingbjerg and Nørrebro in Copenhagen, Máximapark outside of Utrecht, and reclaimed natural spaces like a patch of desert that now grows vegetables for refugees in Algeria, and a once-polluted lake brought back to life in Bolivia: everything that makes the places where we live, play, and work better to be in for each of us individually, and collectively to secure a less precarious future for our put-upon planet.
Toronto's most prominent landmark gets top billing with two screenings of The Tower That Built A City, a celebration of our 50-year-old skyline anchor, while a road trip around Chile with Smiljan Radić in Mundo Fragil highlights the 2026 Pritzker Prize-winning architect's land and tradition-based approach while celebrating his many forward-thinking accomplishments. Screening times and more detailed descriptions of all of the films on offer can be found at the ADFF website.
Tickets or passes can be purchased from the festival's TIFF Ticketmaster page, here. Have a great event!
