Construction of the 46-storey first phase of VuPoint Condos is now advancing prominently above grade alongside the 401 west of Liverpool Road in Pickering, marking substantial progress since UrbanToronto’s last update in August, 2023 at the start of construction. Designed by Arcadis for Tribute Communities, the project rises northwest of Pickering GO station and forms the opening phase of a three-building community.

A May, 2024 southwest-facing drone view captures the site fully excavated for its underground garage, shoring walls encircling the pit. At the north end, a crane installed the previous month stands anchored to its concrete pad, with rebar and forming materials around it. A yellow tracked excavator is seen near the crane, with a earthen ramp formed along the south wall for construction vehicles.

By February, 2025, the structure began to rise above grade, with the ground floor taking shape through a network of newly formed concrete walls, columns, and formwork. To the east (at left) the sloped area will eventually accommodate the second phase, with an abutting garage. To the west (at right), concrete girders for an extension of Walnut Lane over an adjacent creek now in place.

Seen from across Highway 401 in April, 2025, construction is advancing through the early podium levels, with shoring posts supporting the decking for the second-floor slab. Above are formwork panels on both sides of the crane, while portions of the first floor remain sheltered behind tarp.

The structure reached three storeys as of June, 2025, with formwork in place for the fourth floor on the south end of the podium, as well as concrete walls and columns. Sloped portions of the aboveground garage levels are visible, elevating the north end. Material platforms project from the third floor to support staging and slab-edge work, and open window bays reveal interior shoring posts.

The six-storey podium was fully in place by September, 2025, and construction has shifted to the stepped-back tower volume where the residential units start, with three levels formed above the aboveground garage levels. Formwork for the 10th floor is visible, along with decking near the tower crane for the 11th-floor slab. The south elevation is now largely wrapped in yellow weatherproofing as crews prepare for the tower’s cladding. On the west side, dark glazing with black mullions has been installed from the second to fifth floors.

As of this month, the tower has reached 16 storeys. The construction hoist is mounted on the west elevation at the tower’s northwest corner. Much of the podium is now wrapped in blue and yellow weatherproofing, while glazing and black mullions frame the north and west facades. White cladding panels have been installed near the hoist and along portions of the sixth floor, with additional sections enclosing three tower floors on the north side and two on the west. At grade, dark precast elements are installed along the north elevation.

Once complete, the first tower will rise 151.15m. To its east, the next phases include 49- and 53-storey towers reaching 160.6m and 172.1m, delivering a combined 1,779 condominium units across the full development.
