West of Toronto In the core of Milton, locally known as Old Milton, Mikmada Homes, operating as Slessor Square LP, is seeking land use and zoning amendments to permit a pair of residential towers rising 16 and 18 storeys. Designed by KNYMH Architects, the mixed-use project at 388 Main Street East would occupy a full block bounded by Main, Prince, Pearl, and Bruce streets. Positioned within both the Downtown Milton Urban Growth Centre, the proposal joins other redevelopment efforts west of Milton GO station.

The 0.58-hectare site comprises an assembly of seven parcels: 388 Main Street E, 17 Prince Street, and five lots from 389 through 409 Pearl Street, with a mix of detached houses and a commercial plaza. The surrounding Old Milton neighbourhood features heritage storefronts and homes, alongside mid-Century mid-rise developments.

Arcadis has submitted Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment applications to the Town of Milton on behalf of the developer. The proposal envisions a pair of residential towers rising 16 (57.8m) and 18 (63.18m) storeys, rising from a six-storey , U-shaped podium. Of the 53,792m² of Gross Floor Area, there would be 815m² of ground-floor commercial space facing Main and Bruce streets, while maisonette-style residential units would face Prince and Pearl streets, with a Floor Space Index of 9.37 times coverage of the lot. The development would deliver a total of 570 residential units. Each tower would contain three elevators, or one for every 95 units, indicating reasonable service times. 

The unit mix is proposed at 509 one-bedroom layouts and 61 two-bedroom layouts, some with dens, while the tenure — whether condo or rental — remains to be determined. Construction is planned in two phases, with Phase 1 fronting Bruce Street to include 278 units, followed by Phase 2 along Prince Street, adding another 292 units.

Plans call for 1,124m² of outdoor amenities, complemented by 2,297m² of private balcony space. Parking would be accommodated within a three-level underground garage containing 417 vehicle spaces. For cyclists, there would be 311 long-term bicycle spaces, 32 short-term spaces, and 232 bicycle lockers. 

Located about 1.6km west of Milton GO station, roughly a 20-minute walk or 7-minute bus ride, the Milton Line connects the town to Downtown Toronto. Locally, multiple surface routes link the area to regional transit systems in Brampton and Mississauga. There are also cycling lanes on Main Street East.

The proposal is part of growing intensification in Milton’s central area. To the east, an eight-storey building is planned at 72 Ontario Street. Farther northeast, The Millhouse Condominiums are under construction with three towers ranging from 15 to 19 storeys, while proposals include 155 Nipissing Road at 19 storeys, 560 Main Street East at 17 and 20 storeys, and Stationside with towers of 19 and 23 storeys. Closer to the station, 700–706 Main Street East is envisioned as three towers between 23 and 27 storeys.
