Whether arriving by bicycle or kayak, Torontonians checked out Biidaasige Park for the first time this weekend as its initial section opened in the Port Lands. Pronounced “bee-daw-si-geh,” the name is of Anishinaabemowin origin and means “sunlight shining toward us,” possibly referencing the bounce of light off the waters of the new outlet of the Don River, as caught in this image by UrbanToronto Forum contributor skycandy.
