Construction continues on Alba, a 32-storey condominium designed by Core Architects for Edenshaw Developments, rising just south of Mississauga City Centre on Hurontario Street at Fairview Road East. Since UrbanToronto’s last update in February 2025, the project has reached the mechanical penthouse level, with the residential floors now fully formed. Below, work continues on the tower envelope, with balcony railings steadily being installed along the lower residential floors. Located between Square One and Cooksville GO, the development will benefit from the incoming Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT, under construction directly in front of the site.
Viewed from the southwest corner of Hurontario Street and Fairview Road East, the tower's construction has transitioned to the mechanical penthouse levels. The tower’s curvilinear design is expressed through cantilevered balcony slabs with sweeping, rounded edges that ripple up the facade of the west elevation. Cladding and glazing installation have progressed up to the 24th floor. Completed balcony guardrails reach as high as the 12th on the balcony slabs projecting on the south and west elevations. On the podium, vertical white fins frame the lower floors, while glazing and cladding are in place around the amenity levels. A construction hoist remains affixed to the south elevation, next to the Alba banner.
This detailed view of Alba’s east elevation highlights the sculptural quality of its curving balcony slabs, where cantilevered forms taper and bulge. Glazing and cladding have reached similar levels along this elevation, while the podium’s upper edge shows exposed sections of blue weatherproofing membrane awaiting final panel installation. Above, a boarded-over opening on the 11th level indicates one of the few remaining sections still awaiting glazing.
The fritted glass balcony railings at Alba are steadily climbing its faces. On the seventh floor, the balcony slab extends fully around the entire tower, with the railings wrapping around the prominent rounded slab.
Once complete, Alba will stand 109.1m tall and contain 418 residential units.
