Many components make up the Canary House, Birch House, and Indigenous Hub developments at Cherry and Front streets in Toronto's West Don Lands, and in this image by UrbanToronto Forum contributor Justelena, just about all of the components — while closing in on completed exteriors — still have one or more cladding elements that remain to be taken care of. In front of the various new building volumes, what people know as the old Canary Restaurant building and which started off in 1859 as the Palace Street School, has had its oldest portions painted a rusty red, with olive-painted trim around windows and more. We'll get closer up to the heritage building, and the whole of the complex, once it closes in on completion.
