On the sunny Saturday afternoon of July 29, the residents of Balliol Park, a premium urban rental community at Yonge and Davisville in Midtown Toronto, gathered for their summer party. Hosted by rental-housing developer Shiplake Management Company, the annual event was a reflection of Shiplake's aims to deliver a best-in-class living experience and foster a vibrant, welcoming community.
Shiplake, winner of Canada's Rental Housing Provider of the Year 2020, has been providing purpose-built rentals and elevated residential experiences for decades. Completed in partnership with Collecdev with a design by Diamond Schmitt Architects, Balliol Park consists of two towers standing 30 and 15 storeys boasting over 500 units.
The party climbed aboard this summer's hype train inspired by the hit movie "Barbie." Held at the rooftop pool of Balliol Park from 3 to 9PM, the 'Barbie' theme was manifested in myriad ways, from the Barbie Box photo opportunities to the cotton candy machine, while the event was hosted by DJ Dre Ngozi, a Canadian-raised artist with Trinidadian and Nigerian roots, who set the mood with her upbeat music.
Residents enjoyed a selection of catered food and cocktails, and the event also featured a take-home Barbie-themed dessert for all Shiplake residents. From the rooftop pool, residents could enjoy stunning views of the city, including the lush greenery of the tree canopy of the surrounding neughbourhood, and the cluster of high-rises that make up the Midtown Toronto mini-skyline around Yonge and Eglinton to the north.
Located just a four-minute walk from Davisville Station on Yonge Line 1, Balliol Park is conveniently situated close to an abundance of restaurants, parks, and shopping venues. The building's amenities include a 24-hour concierge, a state-of-the-art fitness centre with a yoga room, a screening room, a rooftop pool, an indoor lap pool, and indoor and outdoor art installations. There is also a dog park for the building's pet population.
The residences at Balliol Park feature contemporary layouts with open-concept spaces and luxurious finishes. The building offers more than 40 floor plans, ranging from studios to two-storey townhomes with areas of approximately 40m² to 107m² respectively.
The building's connectivity to the surrounding city will be further enhanced upon completion of the Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown LRT in the coming months; Eglinton station, located about a 15-minute walk from Balliol Park, will serve as an interchange station to this new east-west line.
The annual summer party is part of Shiplake Properties' efforts to foster a vibrant community among its residents. The event acted as a celebration of community and a reflection of the welcoming community and resident experiences that the developer aims to provide through the amenities and services at Balliol Park.
