The end of an era was caught on Friday night in this image by UrbanToronto Forum contributor ProjectEnd of the last GO Train heading north to Barrie via the Davenport Diamond, which is a grade-level crossing of multiple tracks. Following a long weekend shutdown to join new tracks and do testing, the first GO Train from Barrie will roll south across the new Davenport Diamond Grade Separation on Tuesday morning. The new infrastructure will allow more frequent north-south rail service as conflicts with CP's east-west North Toronto subdivision have been eliminated via this new viaduct.
