In Toronto's Canary District, a public art installation in the sidewalk along Front Street doubles as a splash pad. In this image by UrbanToronto Forum contributor skycandy, the Water Guardians (2015), by Jennifer Marman, Daniel Borins, and James Khamsi, stand watch over a water play area that local kids love to run through. The water springs up in fountains along either side of a rubberized base, patterned to look like a flowing river. At night the eyes of the guardians light up with a soft glow.
