The particularly cold winter this year means that there have been a lot of opportunities to lace up the skates, and one type of skate venue that's become increasingly popular of late is the skate trail. In Toronto, the most uniquely located of these is under the Gardiner Expressway west of Strachan Avenue at The Bentway. Here, despite having a roof overhead, snow and carved-up ice still has to be cleared from the ribbon of ice regularly. In this image, UrbanToronto Forum contributor kotsy caught a Zamboni driver making the trail skateable again.
