As we embark on a new year, the UrbanToronto team is looking forward to continuing our comprehensive reporting on the growth and development of the Greater Toronto Area. Notably, over the past year we’ve experienced significant growth in what we do as a business beyond just news reporting. UrbanToronto has become a credible data provider serving the building and development industry. We now offer a roster of services that have become invaluable to our community, and we’d like to highlight them here.

UrbanToronto Pro

Last year we launched UrbanToronto Pro, a new subscription service that provides the most comprehensive information on construction projects in the Greater Toronto Area—from proposal right through to completion stages. UTPro was designed to be a time-saving data service that takes the onerous and time-consuming task of researching planning data out of the equation for busy industry members. A key aspect of UTPro is the lead-generating it provides as users can track new project applications in one place.

Each month across the GTA, there are dozens of applications submitted for new condo towers, office buildings, warehouses, and more. In addition, there are a slew of new documents, requests, and legal decisions being filed. Add to that, the thousands of companies—from carpenters to architects, from excavation to plumbing and more—that bring these projects to life, and that’s a lot of information to sort through. UrbanToronto Pro collects and deposits all of this data into a one-stop shop that subscribers can access at any time.

Company Database

UrbanToronto’s Company Database has grown exponentially over the last year. The Database allows companies to become actively involved in UrbanToronto and promote their business to our readership and the development community at large. Premium Members of the Company Database receive their own page in our Company Database that includes a logo, bio and active links to their website. In addition, companies that are part of the Premium Database receive live links in news articles and on relevant project pages in our Project Database. It’s a great branding opportunity and is a way to generate leads. Plus, UrbanToronto’s high traffic numbers help SEO efforts.
