Construction is progressing for Altree Developments' and EllisDon Developments' 35-storey Thirty Six Zorra Condominiums in the Kipling Avenue and The Queensway area of Etobicoke. Having completed five levels of underground garage area, the sixth floor slab of the building is currently being formed.
Designed by Graziani + Corazza Architects, the building takes the form of a six-storey podium with a screened, landscaped terrace above, and a tower rising to thirty-five storeys at the south end. While a sawtooth effect will be evident on the skyline for miles around thanks to alternating projecting balconies on the tower, the podium takes another variation on the design while angling out the walls of suites but keeping the balcony edges parallel to the street below.
From the air, UrbanToronto Forum contributor bangkok used his drone to capture this shot looking down at Thirty Six Zorra's construction progress in late October, where the demising walls on the fifth floor were underway, defining the future boundaries between one suite and the next.
While Thirty Six Zorra is rising across the street from new parkland that residents will no doubt enjoy, they will also have access to a full range of shared amenities. Within the building they will find a full demo kitchen, a rec room filled with leisure activities and arcade games, and a co-working and social space that facilitates today's work-from-home lifestyle in a comfortable and convenient way. Outdoors on the landscaped terrace they will find a tiled rooftop pool with relaxing cabanas, areas to grill and dine alfresco, fire pits, and plenty of space to entertain.
