Mississauga's City Centre is rapidly evolving with a wave of urban intensification that will bring thousands of new residents and a new LRT line that will connect the emerging pockets of density along Hurontario Street. Just to the south of Mississauga's heart at Hurontario Strret and Fairview Road East, Edenshaw Developments is launching a new 32-storey curving condo development dubbed Alba that will extend a growing corridor of density, while offsetting its carbon footprint with the use of a geothermal system.

Early details about the Core Architects-designed building are trickling out, including information about the geothermal system that is planned to help to heat and cool the building, lessening the property's environmental impact and resulting in greater cost-savings for residents.

“Geothermal buildings such as Alba will see a carbon reduction of about 80%, compared to a similar building heated by natural gas,” reads a statement from Carmen Gerasolo, Sales Manager of Edenshaw Developments. “Geothermal systems eliminate the use of natural gas to heat and cool the entire building and reduce the amount of energy required to operate the condominium’s central systems. The positive impact for residents includes lower maintenance fees, greater resale value, and a mechanical system built with reliability and resiliency.”

This green system will work in concert with ‘Edenshaw Elevated’ Smart Home and Building features, capable of bringing even more energy and cost savings to residents through automation and programmability.

Alba offers 418 units in a range of layouts from one-bedroom to two-bedroom + den plans. Residents will have access to over 20,000 ft² of indoor and outdoor amenities including a co-working and business centre, children's play room and outdoor play area, pet spa and outdoor dog run area, a 'Maker Studio,' an outdoor terrace with barbecues, lounge seating and dining, a party room with demonstration kitchen, a gym with social lounge, a games room, commercial laundry room with lounge, and guest suites.

“Alba marks our third project in our portfolio of condominiums in Mississauga, and we are proud to not only introduce it to the market, but also to be a part of the immense growth happening in this area,” stated Gerasolo. “Edenshaw is excited to bring a community of this stature, along a predominate rapid transit corridor, to the vibrant and ever-expanding neighbourhood of City Centre.”
