A new high-rise community is forming just south of Markham and Ellesmere roads in Scarborough, with ME Living Condos drawing its name from the intersection it will help densify. The multi-tower condominium community, being developed by the Lash Group of Companies and designed by Turner Fleischer Architects, is already home to completed 16 and 28-storey towers at the north end of the site, while the early stages of construction are advancing for a new phase to the south.
ME Living's second phase follows the design of its predecessors, consisting of another pair of towers with similar heights of 14 and 28 storeys. Before these new towers rise into the local skyline, crews are first working on below-grade forming across a U-shaped pit. The pit bottomed out four levels below grade earlier in the year, revealing walls partially lined by cinderblock knockout panels of the first phase parking garage. Once the below-grade levels of the new phase are constructed, the knockout panels can be removed to connect the garage levels of both phases.
Most recently, a pair of tower cranes were erected in the pit, allowing forming to begin for the second phase tower foundations. Photos captured in mid-May show that forming was much further along for the second phase's 28-storey tower with its P4 parking level under construction, while the first rebar was being laid at the base of the 14-storey tower.
The 28-storey tower was marketed as ME2, while the 14-storey building was marketed as Tricycle Condos. Those phases are sold out, but another is planned for the ME Living community, with fourme, a final 34-storey tower approved for the lands immediately to the south of the second phase, at Markham Road and Brimorton Drive.
