Rising in Mississauga near the Port Credit waterfront, a new 15-storey condominium development dubbed TANU is soon to bring new residential density to one of Mississauga's most vibrant, pedestrian-friendly communities. The project from Edenshaw Developments Limited is now steadily climbing into the sky on Park Street just east of the Credit River, and a short walk from both Port Credit GO station and the shops and restaurants of Lakeshore Road.
The first steps in the project came in 2018, when a group of former walkup apartment buildings were cleared to make way for the construction of the new IBI Group-designed building. Shoring and excavation followed, with a tower crane installed in late 2019 as the dig wrapped up. After several months of underground forming, the project rose above grade in mid-2020. We last checked in on construction in November, 2020, when forming had reached the building's seventh floor.
Almost exactly three busy months later, and forming has reached the 12th floor. Once completed only three more residential levels and one mechanical level will follow before TANU is topped out.
As the building approaches its final height, cladding installation has begun on the lower floors. Window wall with reflective glazing framed in dark mullions now rises as high as the fifth floor, and will gradually define more of the exterior in the coming months.
Upon completion, TANU is to house 202 condominium suites, including six penthouses, and six townhome units, between 626 and 2,335 ft² in area.
