One of Toronto's densest clusters of new residential growth—South Etobicoke's Humber Bay Shores neighbourhood—is soon to gain more residents. Mattamy Homes and Biddington Group’s Vita on the Lake and Vita Two developments are bringing a pair of Graziani + Corazza Architects-designed buildings to the Lake Shore Boulevard and Park Lawn Road area of the waterfront community.

The 53-storey Vita on the Lake has been under construction since November, 2017 while its 16-storey sibling to the southeast, Vita Two, started construction almost exactly one year later. We last checked in on the construction of the two buildings in March, when the taller Vita On The Lake had risen 23 storeys. Another 30 residential levels have been formed in the months since, with the current mechanical floor taking shape bringing Vita to its final height of 177 metres.

Cladding installation has also progressed significantly on the 53-storey first phase. In March, a window wall cladding system had been installed up to the 16th floor. The finishes now enclose all but the final few levels, and have been joined by white slab edge covers and a reflective tinted balcony glazing.

When we last checked in on Vita Two in March, forming of the P1 level was in progress, representing the last section of the conjoined underground garage serving both Vita and Vita Two. Months later, the 14th floor of Vita Two is now being formed, while cladding installation begins to enclose the building in finishes matching its taller sibling.

Situated across Marine Parade Drive from Humber Bay Shores Park and Lake Ontario, the base of Vita Two will feature a grand two-storey high restaurant space with patio space in front of it. Eateries along this stretch have become increasingly popular for their park- and lakeside setting, with plenty of people-watching opportunities, and the twinkling Toronto skyline in the distance.

Vita On The Lake will bring 489 new homes to the area, joined by Vita Two's contribution of another 169 units. Both are expected to welcome their first residents within the next year.
