Tridel and Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC) are several years into a mixed-income, master-planned revitalization of the 18-acre Alexandra Park community. Now, new marketing material reveals details of the next condominium building. Dubbed MRKT in a nod to the adjacent Kensington Market neighbourhood, the project at Dundas Street West and Denison Avenue, midway between Bathurst Street and Spadina Avenue, will be the west building in a two-tower complex designed by CS&P Architects and SvN, set to also contain TCHC rentals and retail.

Residents will have access to a collection of amenity spaces appointed by Tomas Pearce Interior Design Consulting. Amenity spaces are set to include a fitness centre, party room, a pool, a kids zone and youth zone, a community garden, and a courtyard. Among these, some of the outdoor amenity space is shown in the initial group of images. Set to feature landscaping by Janet Rosenberg & Studio, this space is set to include a sculptural staircase, an outdoor play area, and a patio with seating, all surrounded by a variety of plantings.

The new condominium tower will bring 175 new condo units to the neighbourhood, MRKT's 175 units will add to Tridel's earlier condominium buildings in the area, SQ and SQ2, which introduced the first of what will eventually be 1,540 new market condominium units in Alexandra Park. These new condos are part of the revitalization's mixed-income strategy, and are being joined by 410 new rent-geared-to-income units and 396 refurbished rent-geared-to-income units.

The MRKT complex's east tower will house TCHC rentals run by the Atkinson Cooperative. While the two towers will share a podium, they are set to function as entirely differently buildings with their own dedicated services and amenities, sharing only the loading area.
