Beyond Toronto's city limits, a central spine of residential communities stretches north through Richmond Hill, Aurora, and Newmarket, largely contained between Bathurst Street and Highway 404. New projects continue to fill in undeveloped portions of these communities, including a plot of land from King Road to Puccini Road, and from Toscanini Road to McCachen Street in the urban zone of Richmond Hill's Oak Ridges Moraine, where developer Plaza is bringing a new low-rise community dubbed the King East Estates.
The project plans to build this block out with a total of 255 homes, in a mix of freehold townhomes, semi-detached houses, and a range of 40', 50' and 60' single-detached houses. Townhomes range in area from 1,890 ft² to 2,415 ft², semis from 2,450 ft² to 2,660 ft², and singles ranging from 2,670 ft² to 3,800 ft². A selection of available home designs with pricing can be found on the project website, along with immersive virtual tours through a few of the homes.
A traditional design style is being employed here by Architectural Design Inc., with gabled roofs, natural stone and brick exterior finishes, and other elements designed to tie the community's architecture in with its surroundings. Inside, the homes will feature interior design work by Enid MacIntosh.
Plaza is now selling the first phase of the project, encompassing 45 lots in the southeast corner of the site. In support of sales for the first phase, Plaza is currently building an onsite sales office at 3 Toscanini Road, with a targeted August/September, 2020 opening.
