Several active and proposed developments along with an ongoing rebuilding of a prominent nearby intersection are promising a new urban future for the Six Points neighbourhood in Toronto's western borough of Etobicoke. The latest proposal for the area is a late November application from developer Amdev Property, seeking rezoning to permit a 35-storey residential tower at 8 Jopling Avenue South, not far west of where Bloor, Dundas and Kipling all meet. Kipling TTC and GO station is walking distance, and MiWay buses will soon stop here too.

The Graziani + Corazza Architects-designed residential tower is proposed to rise 116 metres from a four-storey podium, with the development to contain a total gross floor area of 25,956 m². The tower and podium are planned as entirely residential, with 326 suites in a mix of 210 one-bedroom and one-bedroom+den units, 79 two-bedroom and two-bedroom+den units, and 37 three-bedroom units. The available planning documents do not mention the proposed tenure of the residential units (whether rental or condo).

A four-level underground garage with 163 long-term parking stalls for building residents is proposed, while visitor parking is planned both above and below grade with 34 spaces total. The plan also calls for a total of 250 residential and visitor bicycle parking spaces, located both in the underground garage and above grade.

The submission to the City contains massing and elevation diagrams, and while no representation of the exterior design has been included, no doubt the building's outward expression is being developed behind the scenes. Further details about the design will emerge by the time the proposal is submitted for Site Plan Approval.
