This week's Throwback Thursday looks back three and a half years, showing the replacement of a retail block on Toronto's Bloor Street West, near High Park. Back in February 2016, a two-storey retail block at 2114 Bloor West was awaiting redevelopment, already partially converted to a presentation centre at its west end for the mid-rise condominium development that would soon replace it.

Construction of the new development from North Drive Investments, known as Picnic, The High Park II, commenced in Summer 2016, with the 8-storey, Quadrangle designed building topping out approximately two years later. Finishing touches were installed into early 2019, and the latest photos show a completed project standing on the footprint of the former retail building. Residents now populate the building, and retail spaces for sale at street level may soon add more life to the block.
