In January 2019, a numbered company submitted a rezoning application to the City of Toronto for a 10-storey mid-rise building at 968 O’Connor Drive with 135 units. Now that community consultations have occurred and the developer has taken feedback, the project has been revised and resubmitted in this past week. The building is proposed to be constructed on a vacant lot on the west side of O'Connor at Curity Avenue, on the fringe of an industrial area in East York.

Major revisions to the proposal include a roughly 500 m² reduction in Gross Floor Area, resulting in a decrease in overall units, down to 117, while increasing the number of three bedroom units from 1 to 13, to meet the City’s 10% requirement. Due to the car-dominated nature of the neighbourhood, spaces for below-grade parking have increased from 66 to 101.

The updated plans progress the design of the building beyond massing models. The curved building would be clad in windows framed in a irregular grid of white vertical strips, stepping back above the 5th level streetwall, and again above the 7th level. The ground floor of the RAW-designed building would house 3,959 ft² of retail space fronting O’Connor Drive.
