This week's Throwback Thursday takes us back two and a half years for a view of Toronto's changing Yonge and Dundonald intersection, just north of Wellesley Street. Back in November of 2016, a group of low-rise commercial buildings on the east side of Yonge Street were being demolished to make way for The Clover on Yonge, a new architectsAlliance-designed condominium complex being built for Cresford Developments.

Jumping ahead to July, 2019, a view from the same vantage point shows construction in full swing on the new project. The building’s four podium levels are now fully in place, and partially clad in a mix of materials, with a former heritage building at the site's south end to have its facades reconstructed in the near future. Above the podium, the tower is now ascending towards a 44-storey, 148-metre height.

We will return next week with another look at the changing face of Toronto.
