Just two months after Kingdom Developments broke into the Toronto development scene with the launch of their KSquare Condos project at Kennedy and Highway 401, the project team celebrated a ground breaking on June 27 to mark the start of construction for the new mixed-use complex. The event on Thursday kicked off construction with remarks from project principals and a ceremonial sod-turning to commemorate the start of work.
Taking part in the ceremonial ground breaking were (L-R) Raymond Chau, Sales and Marketing Manager, Kingdom Developments; Danny Tito, Skygrid, Executive VP; Jacob Ma Kingdom Developments, President; Jim Karygiannis, Ward 22 Councillor; Eric Jensen, Kingdom Developments’ Vice President Projects; Jason Heidman, President, Skygrid; and Gary Chen, Senior Project Manager, Kingdom Developments.
“We’re thrilled with the opportunity to start construction just one month after our sales launch,” stated Eric Jensen, Kingdom Developments’ Vice President Projects. “This speaks volumes to the success of KSquare Condos and the significant demand the project commands from both end-users and investors who recognize the incredible value and ownership opportunity that KSquare presents”.
Designed by IBI Group, the complex features two towers, rising 31 and 34 storeys from a shared seven-storey podium. The project will eventually contribute 485,000 ft² of space in a mix of retail, office and mixed-use residential space to what Ward 22 Scarborough-Agincourt Councillor, Jim Karygiannis called "the City’s most dynamic neighbourhood" at last week's event.
The project will bring 644 units to the site in a wide range of suite types and sizes including one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom layouts. Prices for the project start from $372,900, with early buyers being treated to a free parking space with their suite purchase.
Residents of the development will have access to a selection of amenities with interiors by Tomas Pearce Interior Design, including what is being hailed as Toronto’s largest private condo library and study area. Other amenities planned include two private music rehearsal rooms, a gym, a pet grooming spa, a kids zone, a lobby with 24-hour concierge, a party room with two dining areas and a rooftop terrace overlooking the neighbourhood.
