The final phase of a master-planned community is taking shape in Toronto's Fort York neighbourhood. Following in the footsteps of the completed 12-storey Garrison at Fort York, the 28-storey Yards at Fort York, and the 13-storey third phase of the community, Local at Fort York, the final phase on Grand Magazine Street called Fortune at Fort York is a 24-storey, IBI Group-designed condominium tower that will rise from a podium that forms low-rise street walls along the surrounding roads.

Construction began in Spring 2017 on the block-sized site, when the surface parking lot on the site was cleared to make way for drilling rigs and the start of shoring. Excavation followed, wrapping up late in 2017, with tower crane installation paving the way for forming of underground levels, a task that continued into the end of 2018.

Since the start of 2019, we have seen the forming begin to progress above grade, with the most recent photos showing forming work now as far as the building's fourth level in certain areas. The building's podium only rises four storeys, meaning that subsequent levels will feature a reduced floorplate size, and will rise much faster than the podium.

Once construction wraps up in 2020, the project will bring another 459 new condominium units to the Fort York neighbourhood, where the residential population has grown exponentially since the mid-2000s thanks to the clearing of a former Molson Brewery and surrounding buildings to make way for new residential density.
