This week's Throwback Thursday takes us back almost exactly 8 years for a view of Toronto's Yorkville area. In February 2011, plans were in the works to redevelop the office building at the northeast corner of Cumberland and Bellair. The 9-storey building is visible in the centre of the image below, captured facing south from Yorkville and Bellair.

A full 8 years since the above photo was taken, construction is in full swing for the redevelopment known as Minto Yorkville Park Condos. The 25-storey tower with design by IBI Group now rises over halfway towards its final height. New in the background, Bellair Street's buildings frame the two towers of U Condominiums, rising 56 and 46 storeys, both topping out by early 2015. (The 46-storey tower is half hidden by One St Thomas.)

We will return next week with another look at the changing face of Toronto!
